How we look after your details

Who we are

Tasman Web Design (“Tasman Web”, “we”, “us”) is a web design business based at 4A Courtney St, Motueka, New Zealand. For anything about your personal information, email info@tasmanweb.co.nz or ring 027 501 7763.

What we collect

When you ask us for a free website mockup through a Facebook or Instagram form, we collect:

• your name, email address, phone number and country
• your business name and type
• your current website address, and any Facebook or Instagram page you give us
• your answers to the form questions

When you use our contact form or email us, we collect what you send: usually your name, business, town and message. Our website does not use analytics or advertising cookies.

How we use it

• To make your mockup. We look at the public website and social pages you give us, and use your business's public text, photos and colours to design it.
• To email you the mockup, plus a short series of follow-up emails about it.
• To reply to your questions and, if you choose to buy, to build and look after your website.

You can unsubscribe from our emails at any time using the link in each email, or by emailing us. We don't sell or rent your details to anyone.

Who we share it with

We use a small number of service providers to run the business, such as email, website hosting, record keeping and design software. They only handle your details to provide that service to us. Meta (Facebook and Instagram) also holds the details you enter in its forms, under its own privacy policy.

Some of these providers store data outside New Zealand, including in the United States. We choose providers that protect personal information to a standard comparable to New Zealand law.

How long we keep it

We keep your details for as long as we need them to make and follow up your mockup, or to look after your website if you become a customer. If you don't go ahead, we delete your mockup request details within 12 months, or sooner if you ask.

Your rights

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it. If you are in the United Kingdom or the European Union, you also have the right to object to how we use it, to restrict it and to get a copy you can take elsewhere. Email info@tasmanweb.co.nzand we'll respond within 20 working days.

If you're not happy with how we've handled your information, please tell us first. You can also complain to the regulator where you live: the Office of the Privacy Commissioner (New Zealand), the Information Commissioner's Office (United Kingdom), the Data Protection Commission (Ireland), the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (Australia), the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (Canada), or your state or federal consumer protection agency (United States).

If we change this policy we'll update the date at the top of this page.
